| So, you're new to the game "Illusion of Gaia?" Did you even know Illusion of Gaia is a video game? If you didn't, you came to the right page. Here's where I explain the story behind this game. "Illusion of Gaia" is a game for the Super NES. Developed by Enix, like most games of its type and system, it is a Japanese translation. It is well known in certain circles for it's "Legend of Zelda" feel. The difference in this game, though, is that the game is a lot more linear, but the plot is a lot more involved. It's also very easy to learn, since it doesn't use money or weapon and armor upgrades. Well, you're probably wondering the story behind the game itself. There was a civilization so ancient that none of it is around today. There is no proof that it ever existed. The people here were so technologically and intellectually advanced that they knew how to develop plants and animals. They used advances in biology and genetics, and were able to make life a lot better on Earth. Other people, though, realized this could be used for evil. They developed terrible demons and violent beasts. The monsters ravaged the civilization. The Knights of Light and Darkness battled them, Freedan and Shadow. The biggest weapon of this war was an insidious comet that would evolve anyone into hideous, mindless monsters. It destroyed the last remnants of the nameless civilization. Other Will's story begins when the world was in an age of
exploration. This was a time when brave explorers would search the ruins of the world risking
life and limb to gain insight into the ancient wonders of the world. One explorer, Olman, was
what may be known as one of the most brave explorers of the world. He lived in the sleepy seaside
town of South Cape. He gathered a group of explorers to go with him to unlock one of the world's
greatest mysteries... the Tower of Babel.
Olman journeyed through most of the world, until he and his party reached the Tower. There, the whole expedition was wiped out, vanished into nothingness. Only one person survived the expedition... young Will. Will found himself in South Cape. He could remember nothing about the Tower of Babel. All he knew was that he know had a strange telekinetic power that manifested just by thinking about it. Now Will has started a quest of his own. Spurred on by his own desire to find
his father, and by Gaia, the source of all life, he will search all through the world to find his
answers to what happened to the party. He has brought along five friends. Others may branch off
to discover their own destinies, but Will must go the distance.
Well, there's your story, straight from me. Now, you'll probably want to learn
more about the characters in this game. If you do, here's the
biographies page, where you'll learn all you need to know about the
characters in Will's quest. Will meets a lot of other people in the course of the game, and they
only get more interesting.
