If you ever get a Red Jewel, hang onto the damn thing!

Gem the Jeweler
Main Page

I am the Jeweler Gem. I control the Seven Seas. In the game "Soul Blazer," the Blazer defeated me. At that time I became powerless, my power scattered across the world in the form of Red Jewels. In young Will's quest, he will come upon some Red Jewels if he looks hard enough. I will spur the young boy on by rewarding him for the Jewels that he gives me. Here are the rewards that I will give him.

Inventory

If Will can find just three out of fifty, then I will give him the herbs, which can restore his energy when he is hurt. It's a holistic thing.
If Will gets me five Red Jewels, which is but one-tenth of what I need, I will increase his defensive capabilities.
If that boy can get eight Red Jewels for me, I will increase his endurance, thereby helping him stay in the journey longer.
If young Will can get me twelve Red Jewels, his ability to damage other creatures will increase. Of course, he'll never catch on to my intricate plan and give me the beating I deserve.
When Will gets me 20 of those sweet, sweet Red Jewels, I will be even more powerful, and then I will be able to increase his Dark Powers, and increasing the power of his special move-the Psycho Dash.
Then, when Will retrieves for me thirty of those Red Jewels, I will do the same for Freedan and his Dark Friar power.
If he finds all 50, I'll have my power back and regain the form I call Solid Arm. Then I'll probably kick Will's arse and rule the world. Until then, here are the locations for the 50 Jewels in "Illusion of Gaia."

I - Get the first Red Jewel at the beginning of the game. As soon as the opening sequence ends, go upstairs, onto the rooftop. Enter the bell tower through the left. Now push up and whatever button it is that you talk with.

II - Go to the basement of Lance's house. In one of the blue barrels is a Red Jewel. If you want to see it for yourself, go to Lance's house yourself.

III - Enter the Seaside Cave. If it's your first time, Will will tell you what the cave is. Before talking to Lance and Seth, go in and out. There is a fisherman on the dock who will move around periodically. Eventually, when you are going in and out of the cave, he will appear with a pot next to him. Inside is a Red Jewel. Don't go back in after seeing the pot; it won't come back.

IV - When you enter Edward Castle, two knights will greet you. After talking to you, they walk off. The one on the right hides behind a pillar on the right side of the room. Talk to him to get a Red Jewel.

V - At some point in the viaducts below the castle, you will run into a rusted switch. Go to the ledge above it, and leap on the switch. A door should open. Inside the room is a spirit and a chest with a Red Jewel.

VI - After getting Freedan, look around. You'll find a chest with a Red Jewel inside. It shouldn't be hard to miss.

VII - When you get out of the prison and into a room with four barrels positioned vertically, get on the right side of the bottom one. Check it and get a Red Jewel.

VIII - Check out the logpile on the left side of Itory Village for the eighth Red Jewel. Another easy one.

IX - You know that room in the Incan Ruins that has a floor lined with gold tiles? Go up the north door. In the next room, go up another door. In this room is a chest with the Red Jewel. Use your radar if you have to.

X - After Will wakes up on the Gold Ship, talk to Seth to get a Red Jewel. Do it now, 'cause he gets eaten if you talk to the queen's skeleton first.

XI - When Will and Kara get rescued in the Diamond Coast, go out front. There's a Red Jewel in the pot bordering the front of the house.

XII - In the inn at Freejia, go upstairs. In the rightmost room up there is a pot with a Red Jewel inside.

XIII - Still in Freejia, go all the way to the right. There should be two inaccessible buildings with blue roofs. Get Will directly between them. Hold down to get him to jump over the barrier. Follow the trail to get to another jumping point. Now follow the road to a slaver. He'll give you the Red Jewel. To get out, go up and left and find a point where you can jump the barrier. This is the only time you can jump these. Take it from someone who has tried.

XIV - To advance the story, you'll have to get in the cave in the back of town and speak with Imas, Remus, and Sam. When you do, go to an alley between the buildings. Said alley should be below the cave and a little to the left. Don't talk to the guy looking the other way. He doesn't like you. You'll find a ladder to climb and enter the inside of a building. There, you'll locate a missing slave. Be a jerk; turn the guy in to the slavers who are talking in the back of town. One will give you a Red Jewel.

XV - In the Diamond Mine you should find a wall near the first Dark Space that makes Will's (or Freedan's) hair move. Use Will's Psycho Dash on the wall. Inside is a slave who takes three Red Jewels to the Jeweler for you. If that slave only knew what Gem was responsible for...

XVI - (Same as above.)

XVII - (Same as above.)

XVIII - This is in the first section of the Sky Garden. It's in a conspicuous chest, so it's pretty easy to find.

XIX - This is in the third section. It's not as easy to find, but you can do it! I believe in you!

XX - This one, and two others, are located in the Seaside Cave in treasure chests. Look around hard enough and you'll find 'em. If you can find one, you should have an easy time finding the others.

XXI - (Same as above.)

XXII - (Same as above.)

XXIII - After putting the second Statue of Hope in the second Room of Hope, go directly south of this Room of Hope. You should now be able to go into a small area with a chest with a Red Jewel.

XXIV - In Angel Village, there is a room with angels dancing. Check the fountain in that room to get a Red Jewel.

XXV - En route to Gem's studio, you should find a crack in a wall just big enough for you to access with the Psycho Slider. Do so, and open the chest in the small room. I think you know what's in there.

XXVI - There's another room in Ishtar's studio between Kara's painting and Ishtar's room. Check the pots in this room.

XXVII - The solution to one of Ishtar's puzzles is the chest contents. Inside the second chest is a Red Jewel.

XXVIII - Search the jars on the rafts on the left side of Watermia.

XXIX - Check out all the pots in the gambling house, or, as it's labeled when you walk in, the "Desert."

XXX - This is in a chest somewhere in the Great Wall of China. It's in a room by itself; it shouldn't be too hard to find.

XXXI - There are a number of invisible alleys between the buildings in Euro. Try to find them. When you get them figured out, you'll find that four cross in a square between four buildings. Get to that square and check it.

XXXII - Keep getting apples for Ann, who is in the Rolek Mansion. She'll give you a Jewel after a while. You get apples in the market in town.

XXXIII - Go in the shrine (which you'll find if you get your alley traveling down), and look where the wind blows behind the statue. The statue'll disappear. Go downstairs. You'll find a slave room. Check the barrels.

XXXIV - After you get to Euro, go back to Watermia. Lance will have found a Red Jewel. He'll give it to you.

XXXV - Leave the second Dark Space on Mt. Kress. Go down a long mushroom path and a longer path to the left. Eventually you'll get to a chest.

XXXVI - In the Natives' Village, go to the hut on the right with the girls who are petrified. Search the pots.

XXXVII - Inside of Angkor Wat, you'll see a spot with two platforms that form a V, the right platform containing a chest. Get on the left one and run to the right one. You have to run.

XXXVIII - You know what? These next three Red Jewels are hard ones to explain. I'll just tell you to check every room. They're all in chests, and all become available after Freedan gets the Earthquaker.

XXXIX - All right. When you get to the bright floor, fall down a certain hole to get a Red Jewel. Don't forget your sunglasses!

XL - This one can be found by exploring the third and fourth floors. It's in a chest too.

XLI - After un-petrifying the girls, one will give you a Red Jewel.

XLII - In Dao, check the barrier above the two guys who are talking.

XLIII - If you win the Snake-Pop game by whacking 51 snakes, you'll get two Red Jewels.

XLIV - (Same as above.)

XLV - When you enter the Pyramid, get Shadow and the Aura Ball. Use the 'Ball on the far right platform of the chamber. You should sink into a room with a Red Jewel in the upper left corner.

XLVI - Leave the second Dark Space as Shadow. Go in the second door on the right. Go right and down the stairs. Go left to a small stairway going straight up. Stand a couple of steps to the right from the base of the stairs. Sink through the floor. Go to the top of the stairs, and sink again. You should end up in a room with a chest.

XLVII - Leave the same Dark Space as Will and head to the first door on the right. Make your way left. Enter the door. Make your way right. Enter the door. Take the far left door. Repeat this in the next five rooms. Now go to the right until you find a wall full of spikes. Use the Spin Dash to get through the wall. Enter the first door and open the chest.

XLVIII - Leave the same Dark Space as the same character. Go to the first door on the left. Go to the right until you hit a small ramp. Spin Dash the ramp. You should reach a chest with a Red Jewel inside.

XLIX - Leave the Dark Space as Shadow. Enter the second door on the left. Go left down the first set of stairs. Sink in the floor before the second set. In the next room, go in the door on the far right. Go in the door on the far left now. Walk to the right and take stairs going down. Go left down the second stairway. Now walk all the way right to the wall. Sink through the floor and grab what's in the chest.

L - When you enter the Tower of Babel, check the altar where the flute was found.
